The 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League runs across 189 matches in two distinct phases. The league phase, introduced for 2024/25 and continuing this season, replaces the old eight-group system with a single 36-team table; each club plays eight different opponents (four at home, four away) in matchdays that sit on the international club calendar through autumn and early winter. From there the bracket runs as a two-leg knockout through the Round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals, before a one-off Final on May 30, 2026. The league-phase top eight go directly into the Round of 16, sides finishing 9-24 contest a two-leg play-off round to fill the other eight Round-of-16 spots, and clubs ranked 25-36 are eliminated.
